Not the worst "extra" in the DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . DVD "ultimate collection" two-disc set (that would be OIL RIG ATTACT), this 115-second short explains the process and background behind the Space sequences in this James Bond adventure. Before helping out with DIAMONDS, special effects man Wally Veevers had worked on DR. STRANGELOVE OR: HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE BOMB, as well as 2001, LORD JIM, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, BATTLE OF Britain, SODOM AND GOMORRAH, plus THE GREEN MAN--some of which are mentioned by this piece's narrator, Michael Wilson. The construction of these comparisons of drawings, test shots, and final footage on a triple split screen is somewhat confusing (though it would probably look better on a 90-inch TV screen). But at least the material in this brief segment is relevant to the final movie, unlike the scant material in OIL RIG ATTACK.
