Donald Trump is so displeased with his team’s inability to lock in A-list talent for his inauguration events next month that he’s ordered a “Hail Mary” shakeup of his recruiters to try to book performers, a person familiar with the situation told TheWrap. Mark Burnett, who produces “Celebrity Apprentice” with Trump and has been overseeing entertainment for inauguration festivities, has brought in talent recruiter Suzanne Bender, a former “Dancing With the Stars” and “American Idol” booker, to end an effective freeze-out by Hollywood, the insider said. Bender also worked on Burnett’s “StarMaker,” a short-lived singing competition hosted by P. Diddy that aired.

Who says Sean Combs doesn't have a sense of humor? The rapper has given his blessing to a sitcom that will make light of his life as a producer, artist and entrepreneur, through the eyes of his former assistant. The Hustle, a new show now in development with ABC, will focus on the career of Sarah Snedeker, who has since become an executive at Combs' Revolt Films. The live playoff eliminations! So many teenagers choking back tears – it was kind of brutal! Since there were no big surprises about whom America chose and, apart from Maroon 5 playing "Daylight," there were just a couple of 10-deep group revues for live performances, including a tandem-team reworking of Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger," a song that feels like someone has performed it on every single episode this season. Regardless, it was a good way to pump up the positivity before finding who, as Carson Daly puts it, has been "saved by America,...

After a long and fruitful creative partnership, Lady Gaga has broken ties with creative director Laurieann Gibson. MTV News confirmed the split on Monday (November 14), which came after reports that the two women had a serious falling out.
Gibson has been part of Gaga's inner circle since well before the singer became an international superstar, beginning with the choreography for the 2008 "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" video and continuing through the soon-to-be famous steps in clips for "Just Dance," "Poker Face," "Love Game," "Paparazzi" and "Bad Romance."
The pair were closely associated throughout Gaga's rise to fame, with Gibson providing the choreography and artistic input on such landmark videos as "Telephone," "Alejandro" and "Born This Way." Gibson, who previously appeared on MTV's "Making the Band" with Diddy and the "Starmaker" reality show, has been...

Say what you will about famed choreographer Laurieann Gibson, what with her death-defying dance moves, in-your-face personality and A-list clientele: homegirl knows how to stay in the spotlight.Dropping it like its hot since she was a "fly girl" on "In Living Color," over the past two decades Gibson's dance hustle may have only been surpassed by that other notable fly girl, J. Lo.Now, after years of shuffling in the shadows of prominent male producers like Diddy ("Making the Band") and Mark Burnett ("Starmaker), the Canadian transplant is finally Boss Lady In Charge, starring in her own E! Television reality show "The Dance Scene," where she whips aspiring dancers and choreographers -- aka "Team Boomkack" -- into shape. The eight-part series is produced by entertainment industry juggernaut Ryan Seacrest.

X Factor hopeful Rebecca Ferguson has admitted that she was incredibly nervous when she auditioned for the show earlier this year.
The mum of two was featured on a recent episoide giving an impressive performance of A Change Is Gonna Come. She told the judges that she has always suffered from confidence issues and Nicole Scherzinger praised her saying:
“Rebecca, your voice really moves me and I love to listen to you. I think it’s okay to be vulnerable in your music but you still have to connect with the people that you’re singing to so just keep that in mind.”
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo about her experience, Rebecca said:

Simon Cowell was reportedly so impressed by Nicole Scherzinger’s stint as a guest judge on The X Factor last month, that he has hired her for a permanent role on his new American version of the show.
It was widely reported that Nicole’s appearance at the X Factor’s Manchester tryouts was being seen as an audition for Simon’s new stateside talent show, but few suspected that she would have done so well. The news was especially shocking to those that had seen her wooden critiques on Us reality TV show P.Diddy’s Starmaker!
However, obviously the Pussycat Doll has been honing her judging skills. Her last TV role was on an NBC a cappella singing competition The Sing Off and the experience paid off. A source told the Mirror:

The 2009 Hottest MCs in the Game rollout is on! As in 2007 and 2008, the list, determined by the MTV News Hip-Hop Brain Trust, is based on an Mc's achievements right now, rather than an entire career. The criteria is based on a combination of rhyme skill, flow and how those things are implemented musically as the main factors. The Brain Trust also considers buzz, impact, commercial success — sales, airplay, business ventures, Web presence, endorsements and helping to spawn other artists' careers — and the intangible, impact: Can an artist not only contribute to the rap game but influence cultural shifts? Are they trendsetters? All of these factors — and the results of our audience poll, which closed last week and gets a vote at the Round Table during the Brain Trust's debate — contribute...

It seems like 50 Cent and the MTV News Hip-Hop Brain Trust have a difference of opinions.
The G-Unit superstar landed at #9 on this year's Hottest MCs in the Game list, falling just behind Fabolous, who was announced at #8 on Wednesday (September 30). But with 50 Cent's omnipresent ventures — releasing two mixtapes over the summer, having a best-selling book and organizing his 40 Day celebration — Fif thinks he should be higher on the list.
"I think I'm #1," the rapper told Angie Martinez on Wednesday during an interview with New York hip-hop station Hot 97. "I'm in the top five, at least. I'm my favorite, if you ask me. These other guys are cool, but not as cool as me."

As promised, the Hottest MCs in the Game list is being revealed this week — don't miss the unveiling of the full list during "P. Diddy's Starmaker" on Sunday night! — and so far we've disclosed MCs 10 through 8: Wu-Tang's Raekwon the Chef checked in at #10, 50 Cent returned to the list at #9, and today, Fabolous made his Hottest debut at #8.
But the trio has something else in common: They're all native New Yorkers — not bad for a city that critics and even some artists have said needs to have its hip-hop scene resuscitated. And while lots of New Yorkers are excited about Hottest MCs, we went all the way to the top to get a reaction from someone who is definitely not your average New...

Number 10 will be announced on the 28th, nine on the 29th, etc. through October 2. Then, on October 4 during "P. Diddy's Starmaker," we will reveal numbers five through one. Numero uno, the number-one spot.

Never have judges on a talent show said so much and meant so little. Welcome to the blathering, God-dropping authorities on P.Diddy's Starmaker, folks who make the American Idol brain trust sound informed, rational, even thoughtful... In summing up singer David Benett's act, we have Laurie Ann Gibson lavishly praising the Diddlemeister, apparently the Lord's go-to earthling for showcasing tomorrow's stars. Who only God can really judge. Or something. Then humble Diddy himself chimes in with encouragement to turn their "individuality into the swagger that it can be." Meaning, what? Wearing dark glasses indoors? Whether they actually liked Bennett or not is anybody's guess.

Diddy is back with an all-new reality show for MTV. After his last star-maker "Making the Band" created #1 talents like Danity Kane and Day26, "P. Diddy's Starmaker" is looking for the next solo star.
"Starmaker" combines "The Real World" with "American Idol" dreams and performance elimination, with the fourteen hopefuls living in one Los Angeles Mansion where they experience all kinds of music-related challenges over 10 weeks. Note to Diddy: no walks for cheesecake this time.
The contestants include rock/pop performer Monet Monico, who has appeared on Disney's "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody," soul and R&B vocalist Omotayo Riley, and songwriter Angel Inez.
Kimberly Caldwell, former "American Idol" contestant, hosts the show. Music producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jenkins, industry executive, and choreographer/"Making the Band" alumni Laurie Ann Gibson will judge the performers.
