- An insidious operation is underway to secure the TV broadcast rights in the auctions for the upcoming international series. A revelation from the past threatens to destroy the life that Vayu and Rohini have built.
- 10 yrs ago, Yash went to Lords. The ECB President had invited Yash as the President of ICB, for a meeting on the upcoming world cup being hosted in India. But The ECB President delays the meeting by 24 hrs when Yash was sitting at Lords. Yash is furious and considers this an insult. He threatens that India not hosting the world cup is not India's loss, it will be a loss for the rest of the world. Yash says it is Mantra's (Sapna Pabbi) birth day the next day and that's where he wants to be. Yash gifts her a red Mercedes. They go a joy ride, when Mantra loses attention and has an accident. This is how Yash loses his leg and has to use a prosthetic ever since.
Present day. Roy (Dalip Tahil) asks Mantra is she accepts the charges of spot fixing and betting against her person. Mantra refuses all charges against her and her father. She says this is a conspiracy to frame her and malign the reputation of her father. Rohini (Sayani Gupta) visits Mukund's house. Mukund spent his whole life teaching cricket to poor kids, and left everything to them as well. Rohini finds a trunk in Mukund's house and uses the key that Mukund gave her to open it. She finds some legal documents that might indicate the identity of their parents. But she decides against telling Vayu (Tanuj Virwani).
Yash heads to the ICB for a meeting. Tiger One Sports network broadcast contract is over. TV rights are up for grabs for the next 2 yrs of ODIs and Test matches. Tiger One has been Yash's preferred network. But this time the ICB has created a transparent e-auction system. Yash informs the board that Pakistan is arriving in a few weeks for their first test tour in 13 yrs to India. They will play 3 test matches. It is imperative that India wins. Incumbent captain is Rohit Shanbagh (Akshay Oberoi), but Yash wants a captain who plays to win and not draw. Basu (Avijit Dutt) backs Rohit. But Yash says Rohit lost 4-1 in England and its time for a change. Yash proposes Vayu. The board supports but is not convinced that Vayu will be a better captain than Rohit Yash proposes that Vayu and Rohit captain one team each in the upcoming Wadia cup finals.
Yash was the man who commercialized TV rights in India. Before that ICB had to pay Doordarshan to show cricket on TV. There were moments where he was a true visionary. Rohit is revealed to be gay with partner Allen Menezes (Ankur Rathee). ROhit likes to keep a low profile, but Allen is a bit of an attention seeker. He is a lawyer, fighting for gay rights in India, and wants ROhit to use his celebrity status to give some momentum to their efforts.
Vayu discusses with Prashant how corruption would vanish from cricket if betting was legalized in India. Mantra overhears this conversation and is intrigued. She does her own research on how England killed sports illegal sports betting with progressive laws. Rohini digs into the past to figure out that she and Vayu are children of Vijay Subramaniam, a national level cricketer. He was found guilty of match fixing in test matches and was banned from the game. He was even arrested. He and his wife later died in a plane crash and was survived by a 3 yr old son, and 1 yr old daughter. Rajeshwar (Sushil Pandey) is the owner of the TIger One Sports network and is worried about the upcoming e-auction. Yash assures Rajeshwar that Tiger One will get the TV rights like always. But in secret he meets Monica Modi (Shivani Tanksale), owner of a rival Sportel network to say that he doesn't want Tiger One to win, since people are already suspicious that Yash favors them and wants a new player, before people start accusing him.
Vikrant meets Monica right after her meeting with Yash. he shows her a video of how Yash is also prepping Tiger One for the auction. He tells Monica that while Yash has told Monica to bid rs 4500 crores, he has told Tiger One to bid Rs 4600 crores to ensure their one, and also maintain a semblance of competition. Tiger One already has the PPL telecast rights. The value of the contract is around rs 4400 crores. The e-auction starts. Only Sportel and Tiger Global are left as bids quickly reach rs 4200 crores. Tiger One goes rs 4600 crores and Monica hesitates. Vikrant takes control of the computer and bids rs 4700 crores. with 20 secs to go, a female enters the IT room of Tiger One and disconnects their internet. They are unable to place any more bids. Monica and Sportel have the highest bid and bag the TV rights contract. Monica is not happy since this represents a Rs 300 crores loss to Sportel. Vikrant promises to make money for Monica.
Meanwhile Yash receives footage of a saboteur entering the Tiger One building and disconnecting their internet. He disqualifies Sportel network from the auction. He further says that since Yash himself has an interest in Tiger One, and is currently under investigation, he assigns the rights to the 3rd highest bidder, Kruger Sports for Rs 3900 crores. Turns out Yash had already made a 3rd deal with ROger Gleeson (Mark Bennington), CEO of Kruger Sports.
