The story begins with a murder attempt on a rich man in his house; more exactly whilst he is lying in his backyard. No one knows who intended to kill him. The audience only sees the trigger of the marksman on the rifle. So, the wealthy man hires a private eye to find out who tried. And it appears, as tag line says, that it's more simple to guess who was friend of the missed target, to find out who was the enemy. Every one around him had all the reasons in the world to get rid of him. A hard job for the gumshoe. The nearly same scheme that we had in MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. The most unexpected twist ending ever, I assure you.
A pretty good suspenseful and effective time waster in the same time.
