The high rating is due to the promise the show had, but as soon as they fell in love, it started to slide.

The cult idea was pretty well executed, and there was a bit of animal activism somehow...but it took way too long to explain things after the farm scene, and the story doesn't really go anywhere...unless we get a season 2.

Which I will probably still hate-watch.

The female protagonist was so irrational and misandristic that I began to wish her dead towards the end.

Plenty of fun deaths, and good special effects, but the story was slow-paced enough without all the slow motion...and super slow motion.

Had to finish it; even though I was getting steadily more disappointed, but luckily it's pretty bearable on 1.25x (or 2x for the super slow mo).

Fight scenes were one of the strongest parts of the show, and I haven't scene another female actress fight the way she does so she at least had that.

We need second season story began last episode . Some character dosent need to die :(

LUCA started off great, with an interesting premise, cool CGI, and some extremely well done action and chase scenes that kept me on the edge of my seat. The first 8 episodes were very good, I was completely immersed in the story and loved Zi-Oh and his journey.

It all went downhill SO fast, what happened to the writers? I can't believe how terrible the last 1/3 of the show was - it felt like a new writer or director came in, it was really that bad. All the characters suddenly completely changed and become illogical and annoying. Gu Reum was the worst of them; she went from a feisty, brave character who defended what was right and fell in love with Zi-Oh, and then suddenly turned on him? She decided to trust the people who framed her and destroyed her life over the man she loved and the father of her child? And after all that time of telling him he was not a monster she told him he was, which devastated him and changed his character.

The ending was so awful and open ended - was that the end of the world then? The beginning of a terrible dystopia? Who knows, and really I could not care less, I completely lost any investment or interest once they changed the characters in episode 9.

I will give this a 5 only because the first 8 episodes were so good, the soundtrack was interesting, and the acting was great despite poor writing. This could have been such a great sci-fi thriller, I am so disappointed!
