Scary, funny and more than one crime.

This episode is so funny and scary. It has a talking parrot, two women in love with Murdoch, lots of people slugging each other in the dark and suspense.

A man is found dead in an alley near a French restaurant. Murdoch and Crabtree see a man coming into the alley while it is night. They call out to him and he runs. They chase the man and Murdoch is injured during the chase. He has to stay in bed and Dr Ogden treats his injuries him.

Crabtree has to investigate the death of the man and is assigned another police man to help him. They go to the side door of the restaurant where the dead man was found and hear a voice talking. They go inside and it is a parrot speaking in English and French.

Back at the station the parrot insults their boss Inspector Brankenreid and he starts to hate the parrot.

Murdoch is in bed and is being given food by a house keeper. His landlady is supposedly taking care of her dying sister. He starts to hear noises in the attic. He has been feeling sicker and does not eat. He sees the food he did not eat was eaten by a rat and found dead. Even though sick and injured he climbs the ladder to the attic to see what's up. Now he really knows something is wrong. He developed night vision glasses and uses them to see what is going in house he lives in.

Two women show a lot of affection for Murdoch, Dr. Ogden the coroner and a Enid a widow lady that has a young son. Enid is jealous of Dr Ogden.

The explanation of why the man died in the alley is really weird and creepy. The noise in the attic is another part of the suspense in this episode which involves a different plot.
