McRawlins is said to make "only $40 a week" - more than five times what Murdoch is said to make in the third episode.
Maurice Dean Wint who plays John Warton in this episode would later return to Murdoch Mysteries in the role of Raymond Hatch, in Season 11 Episode 2, "Merlot Mysteries".
Annie Oakley was married for the duration of her career (from the age of 16 until her death at 66) and was known to travel with her husband, who was also an exhibition shooter. It's very unlikely that she would have been so flirtatious, or that her husband would not have been present.
This episode takes place in 1896.
When the inspector and Murdock are talking about the removal of "Jaws" McRollins head for his mouth full of gold, the Inspector comments that "..... it's probably worth a few shekels". Shekel is a Hebrew word for a gold coin used during the time of Hammurabi. It came into the English language via the Hebrew Bible (Torah) and first mentioned in Genesis.
