With minor elements recalling mainstream French cinema, particularly the work of Louis Malle, Jean-Daniel Cadinot's "Secrets de Famille" is currently in DVD release in America, a decade and a half after its release. No subtitles, however.
The story is hardly riveting, merely a look at a group of young boys living at the home of Dorian Valmont and his wife Bibian Norai. Bibian is a mature, busty MILF beauty, and her presence on screen is a welcome relief to the all-male oppressiveness of many a Gay porn movie, especially now in the post-theatrical gonzo era.
Bibian even has a softcore sex scene with the studly new butler Mario Cavalieri, who the young boys of the household discover, while reading their Gay porno magazines, is actually a porno star.
With much of the action revolving around the family's swimming pool, we are treated to the hedonism of youth, cavorting, fighting and mainly humping away, with condoms on. There's not enough footage away from the house, though a venture into a nearby village and a "meet cute" (one of our heroes is urinating when a sleeping gent awakes and humps him by the road) offer some relief. It's not comedic, but resembles the French fluff (think "Cousin Cousine") that the French used to constantly export to American art houses back in the day.
