Violence & Gore

  • A boy is dragged out from the prison where he was visiting his dad, and thrown on the snow.
  • A man is taken into a car, and beaten with another man's gun as seen through his eye view.
  • It is implied a man is beaten and tortued multiple times throughout the film, without any of it being shown besides from his horrible conditions.
  • When a man is dragged into prison, his feet are shown to be bloody.
  • A man is shown to have a bloody bruise on the head, because of a beating that wasn't shown.
  • A man suffers from tuberculosis. We see him coughing, just not blood.
  • A woman is pushed on the ground. Then she is dragged to a large river and pushed into the water, and thinks her ribs are broken.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One communist soldier can be seen smoking a cigarette during the opening scene.
  • A communist police officer is shown to be drunk after he has barged into a Christian home.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Even though the beating and torture of a Christian man named Richard Wurmbrand are fully implied, these scenes can be little disturbing for some little kids as we see the man in horrible conditions.
  • There are some mildly emotional scenes regarding the communism that took place in Romania.
