I've stumbled upon this video looking for Russian animation with subtitling.
The drawings are a bit quirky, which give a special and unique atmosphere. While probably cultural bound, the character behaviors are pretty new to me. It has been a joy watchign this; while in the '70 Russia was communistic this cartoon might've well been propaganda. Yet here's the interesting part: with our current "female movements" and "gender equality" this movie shows the contrary of a strong and witty female who saves her successful man. Compared to the ganger-inspired new yorkan animated animals of US cartoons of the same year, this seems to enforce the value and importance of women in the Russian culture.
Very interesting and entertaining short which will fascinate when you look a little bit deeper and relate it to today.
