Hazel Edwards : [Martin is peering into a window] Martin, what are you doing?
Martin Edwards : Shh!
Hazel Edwards : You're not up to your snooping again?
Martin Edwards : There's something strange here, Hazel.
Hazel Edwards : There certainly is.
Martin Edwards : They're up to something.
Hazel Edwards : No they're not.
Martin Edwards : They must be. I haven't heard a single sound all morning.
Hazel Edwards : That's because they're not in. Come on.
[enters No 73, Martin follows]
Martin Edwards : It's the oldest trick in the book: you subject your victim to constant pain with loud noises and flashing lights, and then just when he's coming to terms with it all, you stop and let him suffer the agony of anticipation.
Hazel Edwards : They're not in, Martin.
Martin Edwards : That's what they want you to believe. They lull you into a false sense of security and then just as you're easing back in your deckchair, they strike!

Hazel Edwards : Come on, it's your turn to make lunch.
Martin Edwards : Yes, it's very strange with them not being here, it's all quiet and empty.
Hazel Edwards : Never mind, they'll be home tomorrow.
Martin Edwards : [perks up] How simply dreadful. I'll be round first thing, to complain.
