Beware of the Bunny Man
Woodyanders14 January 2010
Warning: Spoilers
A trio of bickering teenagers venture into a remote forest to check out a ruined bridge that's rumored to be haunted by a local psycho bogeyman figure known as the Bunny Man. The kids find out this particular urban legend has a scary and dangerous grounding in terrifying reality. Writers/directors Matt Gelfman and Jesse Gouldsbury develop a good deal of tension as the tight and involving story builds to a very creepy and chilling conclusion. The sylvan setting projects a strong sense of isolation and vulnerability. Eric Bayer, Michael DiGregorio, and Matt Gelfman are quite funny as the teens who constantly argue with and taunt each other as they embark on their harrowing trek into the woods. Gouldbury's rough and fuzzy cinematography gives the picture an effectively grungy look and makes neat occasional use of shaky hand-held video camera point of view shots ala "The Blair Witch Project." A nifty horror short.
