Patrons of motion picture theaters have come to look upon the Selig players as especially adapted to the production of pictures having a dash and go in them, such as are embodied in their Western dramas. This film will be a surprise to them. Gathering inspiration from Millet's famous painting of the same name, the players have produced a series of delightful home scenes, all illustrative of the "peace on earth" idea. The scenes are all sympathetically rendered and are quite as remarkable in their way as are the pictures which have heretofore come from the Selig studio in their particular department. Probably everyone who sees this series would like to see more. There are other great pictures, great poems or great books upon which a series of this character could be developed that would be quite as beautiful and quite as satisfactory. - The Moving Picture World, May 14, 1910
