It keeps getting better
landerdevos2 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
American Horror Story: Red Tide is on it's midseason finale, and while it's perhaps not as strong as "Pale", it's still a great piece of television.

This episode was more focused on Ursula. While I agree that it's kind of a typecast at this point, I still think that Leslie Grossman is absolutely slaying her role. Ursula is a lot smarter than I have expected.

We also see Belle Noir losing her patience. She is a woman who can snap anytime, and when she does, the results won't be good. Frances Conroy does an amazing job at playing Belle Noir.

Dare I say that this season might be in the top 3 for AHS? The cinematography is gorgeous, the music is haunting, the acting is Emmy worthy and the script is actually well written.

Also, this episode has one of my favorite AHS quotes of all time!

"Honey, you're a paper airplane, and I'm a 747. Don't you ever think you're like me just because you can fly a little." -Belle Noir.

I can't wait to see next week's episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Another great and entertaining episode, but perhaps not as good as the first two.

It's nice we get to focus more on characters who were more or less in the background on the first two episodes. Leslie Grossman plays her character extremely well and is quite funny, but I do just wish we would see her in a different type of role. She seems to have been typecast as the stick up b-word character. Yet, much like Emma Roberts, she absolutely nails it every time.

Much like the first two, the directing and acting are superb which is quite refreshing to see. This episode has quite a bit more humour than what we've seen so far, but for me, it wasn't too much or too exaggerated where it took away from the overall theme/tone.

One could view this episode as a set up for the next couple, but it was thoroughly entertaining and the 50 minutes flew by. It does have one giant WTF scene near the beginning in typical AHS fashion which was a little out there, but it definitely was unexpected that's for sure. A few odd decisions were made as well, but I guess we could chalk that up to the pill effecting their thought process, as we have already seen it changes their personality.

Looks like this is gearing up to be an absolute blood bath (not that it hasn't been forever) and can't wait for more. An AHS season hasn't had this much promise in such a long time, so I hope they continue being consistent.

8.5/10 (rounded up).

Casually Dark & Exceptional

Warning: Spoilers
Under Brad Falchuk's waxing scripting prowess (he's probably on one of those black pills) and Loni Peristere's directorial skills, episode 3 "Thirst" of "American Horror Story" season 10 unfolded with bloody beautiful aplomb.

The usual cast picked up where they left off in the first two episodes. They continued to thrill, intrigue, and regale in this one as well. The crew did good work in all categories.

This epi carried over the horror-ific tone and theme it set in the initial leg of season ten's 'doubly' delicious and deadly storyline. Things were really starting to heat up in "AHS" S10E03, or should I say freeze over. Chilling moments and many a creepy one highlighted this instalment in the tenth season of "American Horror Story".

It was dark yet fascinating to watch dad and daughter - Finn Wittrock's Harry and Ryan Keira Armstrong's Alma Gardner, respectively - both vampires now (in a way) bonding after the fact and making it seem casual and relatable. This, more than anything else, carried the episode along.

Leslie Grossman's Ursula was especially fun to watch in this epi. A fish out of water, indeed. Plenty of punchy quips from her. They truly kept it interesting where her character was concerned.

I don't know about you, but I was actually digging that karaoke duet between Evan Peters's Austin Sommers and Frances Conroy's Belle Noir. It was not good, of course, but there was something to it I can't quite explain.

The sequences where Harry joined Austin and Belle (plenty of great dialogues from her character) in nocturnal hunts was another interesting element that made this episode memorable.

Even Macaulay Culkin's Mickey seemed to want in on the vampire 'creativity boost via a specialized drug and consequent blood consumption' action going on in the crazy seaside community of Provincetown.

Adina Porter's Chief Burleson was getting close to some fatalistic truths - some nice twists in this epi around her character.

It came as no surprise when they introduced yet another brilliant AHS actor in this game-changing episode, namely Denis O'Hare (who played Holden Vaughn). They didn't stop there. In fact, they provided the 'first look' at The Chemist (played by Angelica Ross), the enigmatic character behind the pills that gave these vampires their sharp creative edge.

The episode definitely took things up a notch, or few. All the main characters saw their arcs curving strong in "Thirst" season 10 episode 3 "American Horror Story" on Disney+ Hotstar.

Another Wonderful Edition
corinneppierson2 September 2021
These episodes and their all star casts keep getting better and better in my opinion. I never thought I'd be seeing so many Frances Conroy and Evan Peters duets but I am glad that I am!

Leslie Grossman is the comedic star of the show (while being perfectly coupled with Macaulay Culkin). I wish she was given the opportunity to play roles that aren't solely comedy because she's absolutely incredible! Her one liners and delivery made this episode such a fun watch and leaves me so intrigued for the future.

Angelica Ross. No words can describe the excitement I have for her future on AHS. She's incredible and next episode sounds like it will be the most interesting of backstories for her and the others. The Chemist has found her way onto the pedestal that the Countess of Hotel stands on in my mind and I am so excited for the dynamic she will bring to the ensemble.

Denis O'Hare's short cameo leaves me so excited for his future in the season. Since the iconic role that was Liz Taylor in Hotel, I haven't been able to get enough of this incredible actor and his talent. I'm SO glad he's back for this season.

I really am enjoying this season as will all them. Good characters and lots of plot twists. Love the dick dock!! So random. Also love the kidnapping and that whole mess. But the singing by the two characters is the best!!! Would love to go to that restaurant!! Story just gets weirder and better.

Leslie Grossman is superb!

Warning: Spoilers
THIRST really ups the ante on the so far in this fascinating Season 10 of AHS and is even better then the first 2 episodes primarily thanks to Leslie Grossman as the fast talking, quick thinking, sharp tongued agent Ursula. I think this is Grossman's best acting in the 4 seasons she's been on the show. This episode wastes no time in moving the story as Harry (stalwart in the protagonist role) upon realizing Alma (talented Ryan Keira Armstrong) took a black pill, sets out to get more blood to satisfy the both of them while Doris (reliable Lily Rabe) is in the hospital recovering from a scare with the baby. Meanwhile, Ursula arrives in Provincetown bringing Harry even more good news about his script and begins to get suspicious as to why so many residents in this little town are so talented. In particular, Ursula makes a deal with Mickey (breakout role for MacCauley Culkin) that she'll be his agent in exchange for meeting the Chemist (new series regular Angelica Ross) who makes the pills. Also, Belle and Austin (deliciously entertaining duo Frances Conroy and Evan Peters) get even more diabolical as the Chemist orders them to kill the Gardners, Mickey, and Ursula. The episode also introduces a new character Holden (scene stealing Denis O'Hare) who witnessed Mickey murdering a guy on the beach for his blood and makes a statement to Chief Burleson (a solid Alina Porter). With tongue-in-cheek references to Pulp Fiction, Interview with a Vampire, and Home Alone, this episode was packed with wit, dark humor, horror, and violence. But now we're at the dreaded halfway point and the last 3 episodes of Red Tide will either make or break the season. But this ones a keeper.

Honey, you're a paper airplane and I'm a 747

Warning: Spoilers
Francis Conroy, do you have to be this gorgeous?! Belle Noire and the chemist lady want everyone dead. Harry went on another hunt for blood and ended up in a snuff film in the basement of a murderous perverted couple and that was so bizarre and fun. He found out that his daughter has been taking the pill too. Mickey's hunting under the dock was amazing. He struggled and got soaked and snow white sand turned red. Dennis O'Hara is back! He's an interior designer and back in town to mourn for his late hound. Alma the daughter killed the Chief. It seems it'll that be Ursula, Mickey and the Gardners versus the others.

Keeps the story going
awessel-581173 September 2021
This episode was good, but after how good the first two were it seemed a little lackluster. However, this one does its job in driving the story forward by creating new plot points and adding/subtracting a few characters.

Ties to S2, Asylum
setgetsiin1 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think this season is going to connect with S2 at some point. The whole alien abduction...and in Ep1 of Asylum, the couple ran off to PROVINCETOWN to get married...

More to come, I suppose!

{This was written before this episode aired. Come to find that the first abductee from S2E1 is also named ALMA.} * * * * * * * * * * I love the singing this season. Evans is so talented. As is Conroy. Grossman is absolutely the epitome of loathsome, as per protocol: She's just so GOOD at it!! I'm also happy that Caulkin lasted more than the first episode or two. The shore scene was gorgeous...Jaws comes to mind. You'll know it when you see it.

Fantastic Episode; I'm almost sorry I cannot binge watch the entire season, can't wait for the next episode.

Am I watching the same show as others?
dpoland-765899 September 2021
I assume this will not be rated helpful by most. But seriously? How are people rating this season's episodes 10s? The premise is lame. AHS's only saving grace at this point is the acting. The stories are getting boring. No camp from Coven, no real suspense and twisted essence of Asylum, no horror as in Murder House and lacking relevance as in Cult. Nothing original. I loved AHS and I hope there is still time for this season to give something unique.

All you people giving this a ten are being ridiculous fanatics. The only good parts were the ones with the little girl and Macauley Culking's. The rest was a variation that we already seen before.

I don't understand the high rating at all.
RaeGal-4461118 September 2021
So we have a mix of hotel and some true blood rip-offs. None of the suspense and mystery as previous seasons. Just boring. I don't get it. I've seen every season and have been a loyal fan through it all and this just feels disconnected to me. Where is it going?

Except for Evan Peters! He makes the show for me. I guess I'll keep watching until something happens .....but wtf??

best one so far
Brundlefly936 September 2021
I rarely review stuff on here but I just want to say this in case someone at FX is reading. THANK YOU for making Finn the lead, I like Finn but in general its just refreshing to see someone thats not one of the usual suspects lead a season. Lily is also great and so have been the newcomers like the little girl and Macaulay. Even seeing some of the not-THAT-typical AHS actors in the supporting roles is refreshing. Great to see Denis too, hope he can lead a season someday, he's my favorite of the AHS crew. Just keep Sarah and Evan and the others for little roles.

What's the price of greatness?
brianbeasley3 September 2021
If you're a fan, Just watch this season, its phenomenal. I really hope Evan Peter's duet in this episode, wasnt a swan song from the series, cause its staged as one and with the mental problems he's had from the series, it'd just be sad to see him go.

It's ok
cdecrescenzo9 September 2021
Didn't care for the first episode, second episode was alright, but this is where things start taking a turn. The story is gearing up for the finale because it only gets so many episodes, but this season is just not horror filled at all. Once they reveal the truth then it all seems to be a little too much. Good acting in some parts but maybe retire certain people from playing the same boring roles.

S10.E3 - Alma the Monster [9/10]
panagiotis199318 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
(S10. E3) My Live Reaction / Review for American Horror Story Season 10 Episode 3 ''Thirst''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Harry says that Alma should stop taking the pills but Alma is right when she said that he should stop too. Harry thought he was going to get some blood but he ended up forced to do a snuff film? That's crazy. He escaped and got that blood too, nice. I like it when Belle Noir and Austin sing. Mickey is now a murderer too, that sucks. Alma killed the police officer? I didn't see that coming, what a mess. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.

Skipping through scenes on this one...
MsHoneyBee3 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So far, my rating for the new season stands at a six. This is definitely not a 10 season so far. I think this is way better than AH Stories but not better than other seasons. It does return to its roots in comparison to some seasons but unfortunately its nowhere near believable enough, even for this universe. Certain holes in the plot are... confusing and... unnecessary? Obviously I can't 100% predict that because the whole season hasn't played out.

Aliens or vampires or whatever are just walking around in the middle of the day and no one is taking notice, including the sherif who is supposedly from a big city... the pills have become a family affair now... and what was that super random kidnapping of the main character?? Snuff film? What was the point in that??

I think the biggest issue I had (I turned off the episode at this point) was when the now 4 days clean off meth writer simply confesses the biggest secret of the town to a woman who has only insulted him every single moment since they met. The prospect of this woman helping him become famous is CLEARLY low, and yet without even buying him a drink, he spills his guts.

I guess it's in the nature of the show to force out information in this way. One person says, tell me what's going on, and the other person tells them without much of a fight... however, it left a nasty taste in my mouth and felt very rushed.

I will keep watching, starting again with episode 4 but I can't finish episode 3 and I'm looking forward to the second part (?) of the season.

Once again, very strong episode. I love that we've learnt more about pills, where they came from. Love to see more and more old characters in this season. Ending of this episode was the cherry on a cake.

Excellent Acting. Poor parenting.
wotcherscamp29 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode has some great acting but goodness gracious, Alma is the embodiment of bad parenting. Spoiled and self-centered, she is more than enough reason to want to turn the show off. Also, if the black pills are so damn important, why would you leave them lying around?
