Marks the first and only appearance of Magica's brother Poe De Spell in the DuckTales (2017) Reboot, as well as the first time in Animation where he's been seen as an Anthropomorphic Duck. The flashback showing off Magica's case against Scrooge shows Poe being turned into a Non-Anthropomorphic Raven like he'd been throughout the original DuckTales (1987), along with him flying off rather then still remaining by his sister's side.
The episode title is a reference to the classic Don Rosa comic involving Scrooge known as "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck".
The flashback of Glomgold's case against Scrooge features the Webra Walters, a news reporter from Duck Week Magazine seen in a few episodes of the original DuckTales (1987) (who along with Oprah Webfeet played the same type of role that Roxanne Featherly plays in the DuckTales (2017) reboot, and is now also voiced by Kari Wahlgren in place of the late Joan Gerber) that was based off Barbara Walters and had been known for having a speech impediment.
The plot of this episode is similar to that of the Trial episode from Batman: The Animated Series (1992), which also took place in court and featured the various villains from throughout the series.
The year 1987 that Webra Walters mentions in her report during Glomgold's story is a reference to the original DuckTales (1987), which she also made a few recurring appearances in.
