I saw this musical documentary on the European culture channel ARTE, and I fully enjoyed the music and the short interviews with some of the best Roma artists in the Balkans. I believe that the fine selection of artists for this film is also its best part. We get to know these artists in their living environments as well as a few shots on big festivals scenes. The interviews are however too short, and there is no serious musical commentary that would give more consistency to the presentation of this living and evolving form of art. I realize this would be difficult in a less than one hour documentary, but as a music lover I am expecting a more detailed and serious film in the future, even a series that would allow for each artist to have its full episode.
