Mr. Whitt teaches the river folk-- and he receives an education
JordanThomasHall20 June 2018
Mr. Whitt can't find an opening at local schools to get in his annual two-weeks classroom teaching and is at risk of losing his professional standing. Tammy arranges for Mr. Whitt to teach some of the river folk. Mr. Whitt struggles to get through to them. He takes them, as well as Mr. Brent, Lavinia, and Gloria to Schnapps Island for an outdoor, hands-on experience but trouble ensues when their boat drifts away and leaves them marooned. The society types separate from the river folk. With the well-to-do set struggling they begin to appreciate the river folks' life skills and see how much knowledge they truly have.
