When I saw the pub I dreaded "just another variation on the endless manipulation for cheap thrills". Yes, it was manipulative, but well made.
The plot stories go to a halt because something is really happening here. The station is under attack, "from within" so to speak. It is fine how a few cops do realize that there is trouble, by smaller signs. Funny how the chief doesn't :)!
There are a few revelations here, and enough violence to make you feel you're there, not sugarcoated with hugs, romance or whatever usually thrown in at us in order to, well, keep on watching.
Watch the 2nd part, "Impasses", if possibly right away. You won't regret it. After having done so, I decided to see the whole series. Not artificial like "Central Nuit" nor dumb like "Les bleus", this is much closer to what life must really be like in a Parisian police station.
Enjoy!
