At the time this episode aired, Bugged by a Bee (1969) had not yet been released by Warner Bros. on DVD or Blu-ray, though it had been restored for its presentation on the HBO Max streaming service.
Advance listings included the Barney Bear cartoon Busybody Bear (1952) among the alliterative "letter B" titles in this episode, and Bill even mentions Barney Bear in his welcome monologue, but no Barney Bear cartoon is ultimately shown. Instead, the episode features the Tom & Jerry cartoon The Bodyguard (1944), which was not listed ahead of time.
This episode sees the debut of a new character from the MeTV family, Sue P. from sales (shown onscreen as "Sue P., Sales", a pun derived from TV star Soupy Sales). Sue offers recommendations for the show, telling Bill and Toony what behavior is testing "through the roof" or "off the charts", and she is convinced that the show is called "Gil & Gilly in the Morning".
Goldie Fisher does not appear in this episode.
Musical Mountaineers (1939) had been featured previously in Barnyard Bill's Yee Howdy! (2021). In this episode it is the only cartoon whose title doesn't follow the "letter B" theme, although the title is still alliterative (with the letter M) and the cartoon stars the alliteratively-named Betty Boop.
