Scottish singer and West End star Darius Campbell Danesh died from respiratory arrest caused by inhalation of chloroethone, a US medical examiner has confirmed.
The former Pop Idol contestant’s death has been ruled an accident by the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, after Campbell Danesh was found in his Rochester apartment last month.
His family revealed the singer had been suffering from chronic neck pain following a car accident in 2010, a trauma he had previously talked about in interviews.
In 2010, Campbell Danesh was a passenger in a Porsche when it hit a wall at 70mph after skidding on oil during a Spanish holiday in Spain.
He was treated with daily physiotherapy but rejected an operation recommended by doctors because he was concerned that it would damage his vocal cords.
Campbell Danesh was found unresponsive in his Rochester apartment on August 11, according to a statement from his family.

As announced back in March, Skins is set to return for a final time next year, and E4 and Company Pictures today announced the details of the new series.
It will mark a departure in style and will see three former stars returning to the roles which shaped their careers in three individual stories, each one broadcast in two, one hour parts.
Written by series creators Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain with Jess Brittain, the stories go into new territory; more adult, more uncompromising. Each two part story centres on the characters now in their early twenties, the party's over and they're starting out as young adults, struggling to find a direction and a focus in unforgiving times.
Kaya Scodelario, the only cast member to appear in all previous six series of Skins, returns in Fire, written by Jess Brittain.
Effy has a dead end job as a receptionist for a leading London Hedge Fund.

Oh, so this is still happening then. "300: Battle of Artemisia" seems to have been brewing for a while now, but without the trigger really being pulled. The last we heard on this movie was back in March, but with a release date looming for late next summer, we suppose Warner Bros. are finally starting to get this thing rolling in earnest. The latest update on the flick comes courtesy of Baz Bamigboye who reports that up-and-coming Brit actor Jack O'Connell has joined the film. While he's not a household name just yet, he first came to prominence, like Nicholas Hoult, Dev Patel and Kaya Scodelario, on the TV series "Skins," and has since given strong performances in the likes of "Harry Brown" and TV drama "Dive," and earlier this year bagged a role in "Beautiful Creatures." Here, he'll join the curiously, mostly no-name cast that includes Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green,...

The UK may be struggling to keep up with the rest of the world in the arena of football, but we’re at least producing some top quality actors. Here’s Matthew’s pick of upcoming talent…
In a review I read for the BBC film, Dive, it stated, "It is lucky that, at a time when we are failing miserably to produce young footballers, we are producing such wonderful young actors." I'm not exactly sure why one would make up for the other, but I agree with the assertion. We have some great young actors and our young footballers are rubbish. For me, that's the best way round, though.
Here's a list of ten young British actors whom I expect to be making big moves in the world of entertainment in the near future, if they aren't already. The list is based on some completely subjective criteria such as talent,...

Writing on the BBC TV Blog, Loftus explained that she didn't talk to teenage mothers before filming her scenes. "I didn't, maybe I should have," she said.
