Hysterically funny and politically incorrect

"Very Blue Beard" is a retelling of the classic tale from the Bluebeard's point of view. There is no way this cartoon would be released today, even in Russia!

A detective is investigating the Bluebeard's case, and most of the cartoon's duration is basically the Duke telling the story, in which he is just a sad lonely soul looking for love, while his wives - a fanatic fashionista, a healthy lifestyle / nutrition / yoga nut, and a reckless polygamous party girl - are self-focused and impossible to get along with.

Sometimes the plot doesn't make sense: was the Duke killed by his last wife's lover? If yes, why is he telling the story? How did the detective meet the Duke, why in a subway? Was it a dream, or the authors imply that the Bluebeard is a collective unconscious of unhappy husbands :) ?

But if you let the surrealism be, understand Russian, and don't get offended easily, it is hysterically funny. My favourite parts are the detective's calls home and the second wife, Lilianna. The way the dialogue is interwoven in songs, it is priceless.
