Regular characters Goldie Fisher and Mr. Quizzer do not appear in this episode.
This episode sees the return of several recurring characters, who participate in Show & Tell Day: Felton Fanboy ("Pop-Culture Fanatic") shows off a mug used by actress Carolyn Jones, MeTV horror host Svengoolie ("Master of Terrormonies") brings his monochromatic figurine of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, cop duo Det. Abouttoretire and Det. Newtotheforce demonstrate the use of their handcuffs, accident-prone stable hand Slipped Disc Jockey ("Can't Ride a Horse") shows the x-rays of his broken bones, and "Important TV Critics" Roger Shaddup and Jean Showacartoon share newspaper clippings of their scathing reviews of hit movies.
Friend of the show Gilbert Gottfried ("Cartoon-Loving Comedian"), who previously visited Bill and Toony in Stuff & Nonsense #7 (2021), makes a brief appearance to give critics Shaddup & Showacartoon a taste of their own medicine when they talk about the movies they've panned over the years and Gottfried wants to get on to another cartoon.
Shuteye Popeye (1952) and I Taw a Putty Tat (1948) are both presented in unrestored a.a.p. television prints, a noticeable departure from the usual digitally-restored cartoons that are aired as part of this show. "Shuteye Popeye", like all 1950s Popeye cartoons, had not yet been released in a restored print through the Warner Bros./King Features partnership when this episode aired, though it was available on DVD in public domain collections. "I Taw a Putty Tat" had not been restored or released as part of a Warner Bros. animation collection on DVD or Blu-ray, though prints of various quality have shown up on DVD either as bonus features or as part of the documentary film Bugs Bunny Superstar (1975). The Sylvester/Tweety cartoon is sometimes censored to omit a blackface joke.
