Jaime Camil is fulfilling a longtime dream of bringing a beloved Mexican game to American audiences. He will host and executive produce the upcoming new CBS series Lotería Loca, premiering Monday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m.
“Lotería has been around for around 400 years and it’s played by 40 million people every day. It’s a ‘must have’ game for many Latin American families. It’s like Bingo and we’ve changed it up a little for television purposes,” Camil tells Deadline. An exclusive look at how the TV version will be played can be found in the video above.
He continued, “We made some adjustments and now it’s more like Bingo but without forgetting the heritage of the [original game]. We also made the characters on the cards fun and animated; they come alive. Each card also has a monetary value, which is different from the original game.”

The CW has given an early renewal to one of its fall dramas — and will become a creative partner in the show.
The network has picked up a second season of Sullivan’s Crossing, a family drama starring Morgan Kohan and CW alums Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls) and Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill). The series, based on novels by Virgin River author Robyn Carr, will make its U.S. debut in the fall after airing on Canada’s CTV earlier this year.
The CW will join Reel World Management, CTV (which is part of Bell Media) and Fremantle as producers of season two. That’s part of the network’s strategy for cultivating original scripted series under new owners Nexstar, as CW Entertainment president Brad Schwartz outlined to reporters in May.
“We have to be entrepreneurial — we can’t just write a $10 million per-episode check for a show with some dragons in it,...

Sullivan’s Crossing is one of The CW’s new Canadian imports for its fall schedule.
The series, which stars Chad Michael Murray, has already been renewed for a second season by Canadian broadcaster CTV and The CW.
It comes after The CW picked up the first season in April with plans to launch it at 8pm on Wednesdays on its fall schedule and will also air season two.
The series became the highest-rated Canadian drama launch in over two years on CTV. Production on season two will start later this year in Nova Scotia.
The series stars Batwoman’s Morgan Kohan as a star neurosurgeon who appears to have it all until her business partner is indicted for fraud and she finds herself charged with negligence. She leaves Boston to return to her home of Sullivan’s Crossing, a remote campground by her estranged father Sully, played by Gilmore Girls Scott Patterson.

Bowen Yang is a three-time Emmy nominee for “Saturday Night Live”: twice in Best Comedy Supporting Actor (2021 and ’22) and once in Best Variety Writing (2019). However, he has yet to claim a golden statue for NBC’s flagship sketch comedy series. That could all change this year, thanks in part to his recurring performance as controversial New York Representative George Santos.
Yang first donned Santos’ trademark black-rimmed glasses and dark suit-and-sweater-vest combo during the January 21 episode hosted by Aubrey Plaza. That’s when he joined Colin Jost and Michael Che at the “SNL” Weekend Update desk to poke fun at the newly elected Republican’s alleged penchant for lying, which was dominating the political world at the time (watch below).
