The Ryans are nasty family, a group of brothers, with one sister, they're soon embroiled in a turf war with a group of Greeks.
I thoroughly enjoyed this first episode, I miss seeing a Martina Cole drama on telly, this is a reminder of how good a writer she is.
It's a sexy, violent, captivating first episode, it's hard not to get drawn into the story, it features some big characters, dramatic scenes, and some very strong performances, hard not to be totally hooked by Jason Isaacs, so good.
At this stage I'm not totally sure as to who the dangerous lady is, is it in the form of Susan Lynch or Sheila Hancock? Maybe it's both of them.
Enjoyable, 8/10.
