Of course, Gardner’s documentary will please horror fans above anyone else. Still, Living with Chucky is a thoughtful study of how filmmaking, especially independent filmmaking, brings people together.
If you are new to the Child’s Play/Chucky universe, the informative side might be stretched too thin. However, for fans of the snarky killer doll, Gardner has crafted a gleeful celebration of all things Chucky.

Without anything more than the heralding of a cult figure, Living with Chucky becomes a Chucky lovefest relying solely on reminiscing the good times; the kind of interviews that used to be added as a DVD extra.
With an influential history to mine, it’s a shame the franchise-spanning documentary Living With Chucky, written and directed by Kyra Elise Gardner, feels like hagiographic DVD featurettes meanderingly stitched together.
