A solid second episode.

DS Townsend learns that a potential witness is a lot closer to home than expected, the mother of the dead boy is struggling to come to terms with his death.

Perhaps not the quality of the opening episode, but still a very good watch. Some depth to the characters, a good story, but a few predictable events. I hoped they'd steer clear from the family involvement, but alas they went there.

Mariam is perhaps the most interesting character for me so far, her family seem to be quite strong of faith, why isn't she, has something happened to make her turn her back, and hit the bottle?

Rooney is the most irritating character of the series, people like him really do make your blood.

I'm still intrigued, I'm trying to understand why Adnan is so angry.

7/10.

Are high schools allowed to drink alcohol in this community?

The Bay has lost much of its luster with the departure of Morven Christie. I fear the producers have also lost a number of key writers, as season 3 has become one dimensional, and tediously slow. The Muslim family element seems trite and unnecessary at best. Every new character introduced is full of attitude and nothing more. The new lead detective is not a strong character in any way - her personality is depicted as tentative and ineffectual. Why?! The story arc is incredibly shallow and the dialogue is boring at best. Not a single character has any depth or convincing emotion. Finally, what kind of community serves "shots" to teenagers at a social club. It's a shame this show has declined after two promising seasons.

Too Bloody Slow

This season is incredibly slow. Way to many conversations that just go on and on; and same conversations they had earlier. Developments is getting witnesses and evidence is a crime unto itself. Lastly, it's hard to tell the characters from one another. The whole family of characters are a miserable lot.
