I read it and instantly thought "Sweet! A road trip episode with characters I love?!" and got... 7 or 8 gremlins fixing a bus for a minute and then the group jumping through a magic door.
The Brion/Violet stuff felt forced too as a way to just get them past this relationship and on to Harper, which is fine and all but the conversation they had felt weird. They drop in and seem to expect Brion to leave his kingdom? Where he is genuinely trying to do good works and help people who are being chased, hunted, beaten and persecuted for existing. Guy wants a safe home for them and somehow that means he's stuck. No sense.
Not a bad episode, but far from a great one. If you enjoyed it, more power to you.
