In November 2003, under pressure from Christian fundamentalist groups, the Bush Administration edited out of the 8-minute film about 30-second glimpses of archival footage of gay rights, women's march, and pro-choice demonstrations that occurred at the Lincoln Memorial over the years. This altered version was unexpectedly removed from public display at the Lincoln Memorial, in Washington, D.C., by the National Park Service (NPS) a year later, in October 2004.
There are over one hundred different film clips in the original 8-minute montage of Lincoln's Living Legacy.
