The magic of Bengali old time comedies!!
rajdeep-konar10 November 2011
I saw this film long ago as a child and then I saw it again during my grad days and the fun quotient did not lessen one bit since the first viewing of it...It is yet another specimen of a brilliant comedy film from old days of Bengali cinema when fantastic comic actors like, Bhanu, Kali Bannerji, Utpal Dutt, Robi Ghosh, Santosh Dutta were at their prime...the story is adapted from a story by Bankim Chatterjee(author of India's National song)...The story is that of a magical golden ball which when one person transfers to another he acquires the persona of the person he had given it to and vice-versa...Brilliant performance from the actors..only negative point might be that it could be hard for the no-Bengali or non-Indian viewer to appreciate the subtler comic nuances which demand a close acquaintance with the Bengali culture..A classic by all means...
