A solid episode of Merlin, the storyline was interesting and not too hokey.

Warning: Spoilers
The reason for the popularity of this series (and continued popularity on DVD) is clear. It is enchanting. Literally. Speaking of which, this episode strays just far enough afield from the usual "Anthony Head as an annoying prat trying to kill Merlin" plot line to capture the imagination and indeed for a few brief moments actually brings to mind the very best of the British "comedy of manners" tales, where, it seems, everyone is in love with everyone else .....Bradley James continues to shine and if you watch the whole series top to bottom you will see that his infectious characterization became "the glue" which held the series together through thick and thin. The fact it effectively steals the main plot line from the very recent "troll" two parter(also brilliant, but mainly for the astonishing physical acting of Sarah Parish - see Beauty and the Beast I and II) is the only negative.
