- The 15 remaining bachelorettes move into their luxurious villa in Malibu, and the fairy tale begins. One lucky woman will get a fabulous one-on-one date: Jake will personally pilot the bachelorette to a romantic desert getaway in Palm Springs, where they will be serenaded by rock superstar group Chicago. One group date will give six women a chance to strut their stuff in a sexy photo shoot for InStyle Magazine, and the five women on the other group date are treated to a VIP visit to Six Flags Magic Mountain. However, some of the women will not have a date at all before the next rose ceremony, encouraging them to aggressively steal any time they can with the handsome pilot. But nothing can prepare Jake for the bombshell that will be dropped. For the first time in "Bachelor" history, having rose isn't enough.—ABC Publicity
- The fifteen ladies gather for a primer on the rules of the game from host Chris. Bottom line: Get a rose or go home immediately. Chris then presents the first date card: Gia, Rozlyn, Valishia, Corrie, Christina and Ashleigh. will head out with Jake. "This is going to be the best first date with my future husband," Christina tells the camera. Jake, his shirt unbuttoned to mid pectoral, enters -- much to the delight of the screeching women. One stretch limo drive later, the group arrives at a swanky hotel to find a photo shoot!
Restaurant manager Christina worries that the umpteen models might have an edge. "I really want to see what girls have fun with it and really let themselves go," Jake tells the camera. So best buck up, Christina. First up is Rozlyn, who is doing just fine until she lifts her leg in the air to reveal what Christina refers to as "her cha-cha." Oops. Many photos later, it's finally Christina's turn. "I'm breathing, but I'm really nervous," she says. Jake notices the lady is uncomfortable, so he takes her hand and dips her. Awww!
Jake and his gal pals then retire to the pool for drinks. The bachelor pulls aside Gia for a little one-on-one time. She claims not to have been a popular girl growing up. Seems no extremely attractive women were ever popular in high school. Odd. Anyway, Ashleigh soon shows up wearing a skimpy bikini and asks to steal Jake away. The pilot strips down to his trunks and the two take a sexy swim. "We were really close," Ashleigh says. "I had his full and undivided attention." But not for long. The rest of the girls quickly show up in their bikinis. Some of the ladies, especially Christina, are a bit intimidated by Rozlyn's perfect figure. So much so, in fact, that she overdoes it on the hard stuff. "I wish she hadn't had quite so much to drink," Jake tells the camera. Rozlyn then interrupts and steals Jake away. It makes Drunkie McGee awfully mad.
Rozlyn wastes little time in going in for the make-out session. Jake is only too happy to oblige. "It was just perfect," Rozlyn sighs. Jake excuses himself for a moment and returns with the coveted flower. The rest of the women are NOT happy.
Back at the McMansion, the ladies unwrap the latest gift from Jake: a diamond necklace! It belongs to Ali, who immediately starts crying. She will go on the next date. "I'm the luckiest girl in the whole world," Ali tells the camera. A short time later, Jake arrives to take Ali on the big one-on-one date. Not surprisingly, they head to an air strip. Ali, of course, is terrified of flying. The pair jumps into a small plane and take off. "It's so beautiful!" Ali exclaims. "It's so amazing!" It is also "awesome." A few more adjectives later, the two eat dinner outdoors and Jake hands over a rose. They make out. Then the band Chicago plays a private concert for them. It's a moment.
Back at the McMansion, yet another date card arrives. Elizabeth, Jessie, Ashley, Vienna and Kathryn will head out on the next group date. That leaves Michelle, Ella and Tenley unaccounted for. "Jake showed me that he didn't want to be with me," Michelle tells the camera. "So tough for him." But what exactly does that mean? Stay tuned ...
The next morning, date group no. 3 meets Jake at an amusement park. "We have an entire amusement park to ourselves all day long," the bachelor explains. The girls go nuts! A few dozen rollercoaster rides later, Elizabeth steals away Jake. She reads the bachelor an extremely long note that she has written. It's quite awkward and the gist is that she won't kiss Jake until he commits to her. Jake finds it sweet. Others do not. "I think she's very sneaky," Vienna tells the camera. Later, Vienna pulls Jake aside to get some things "off my chest." Turns out the blonde used to be engaged at a very young age. She broke it off and the man immediately married another woman. In some ill-advised plan of retribution, Vienna then eloped with a different man who she hardly knew. Four months later, they got a divorce. "It really made me grow up," she says through tears. Ashley then interrupts with margaritas! We're relieved -- and we think Jake might be, too. Later, he gives the rose to Elizabeth. Vienna is FURIOUS.
Back at the McMansion, Michelle is packing up to leave. The other girls beg her not to quit the show, but Michelle doesn't see the point of sticking around if she is not going to get more than five minutes of quality time with her man. In the end, she shows up at the cocktail party anyway. But instead of talking with angry Michelle, Jake pulls mommy Ella aside to give her a cupcake for her birthday. "Jake is an incredible man and it is hard not to be on cloud nine when I'm around him," she tells the camera. The bachelor then takes Michelle aside. She explains that she packed her bags earlier that day. Then Michelle starts to cry -- again. It's weird. And a little bit creepy.
But it's about to get even more creepy. Host Chris enters and, in a very somber voice, asks Rozlyn to step outside. "This is something we've never had to deal with in the history of the show," Chris tells the contestant. "Rozlyn, you entered into an inappropriate relationship with one of our staffers. That staffer is no longer working with us." Then Rozlyn, who is appearing on a broadcast TV show in order to date a man, says something incredible: "I don't think my personal life is anybody's business." Chris disagrees and asks the lady to please pack her bags. Jake is dumbstruck upon hearing the news from Chris. "Can I get my rose back?" the bachelor asks. Indeed, he can.
Chris then breaks the news to the women. OMGs are dropped. Some of the ladies begin to cry. "It's something we're embarrassed about, but we handled it," Chris explains. Then Jake decides to speak. He tells the girls to speak up if they aren't here for the right reasons. "I just want to make sure everyone is on the same page," he says. Jake then leaves to think about who will get flowers. The ladies, in the meantime, take turns insulting Rozlyn. Time for the ceremony.
The first rose goes to ... Vienna. The second rose goes to ... Gia. The third rose goes to ... Tenley. The fourth rose goes to ... Ella. The fifth rose goes to ... Valicia. The sixth rose goes to ... Corrie. The seventh rose goes to ... Jessie. The eighth rose goes to ... Ashleigh. The ninth rose goes to ... Michelle. The tenth rose goes to ... Kathryn.
That leaves Ashley and Christina out of the loop. The former takes it relatively well while the latter does not. Christina, standing outside, weeps at the happy sounds coming from inside the McMansion. Love hurts.
