An enjoyable, light hearted mystery.

The Village's marrow festival is interrupted when a dog discovers a body buried in the soil, believed to be a Roman or Viking burial, the locals want the festival to continue.

Just lovely, this was a really fun episode. The good Sister is sometimes a little too absent in episodes, here though she really does take centre stage.

Once again, I'm not too sure about Sister B's daydream sequences, not sure they add much.

Great characters throughout, I loved the village feel and vibe, how lovely it is to curl up on a Sunday afternoon, and get lost in sleepy, murderous village life.

Miss Thimble is such a lovely village local, a real character, Sarah Crowden seems to have been acting for so long.

I loved the appearance of Sidney Jackson, his clothes, his hair, his gold tooth, he certainly looked the part.

This was a lot of fun, 8/10.

Quite a delightful little episode

Warning: Spoilers
A body is discovered on the village allotments during the annual giant marrow competition. At first thought to be Viking (cue an amusing sequence with the sister and Viking warriors in costume), it turns out that he is an unpopular fellow who was about to turf the villagers off the land so he could develop it. Peggy's father is implicated and arrested but it's pretty obvious that the evidence was planted in his shed. It's quite ingenious how the sister works out that the murder weapons had been switched.

Guest starring Ivan Kaye

Warning: Spoilers
Ivan Kaye guest stars as Ted Button and I'm pleased to see in imdb that he becomes a recurring guest character, especially as he starred in one of my favorite British TV series, The Coroner, which was sadly axed after two seasons.

Anyway, Dem Bones puts Sister Boniface back on an more even keel after last week's lukewarm episode, as the marrow contest is rudely interrupted by the discovery of dem bones, well them bones and all which leads to a murder investigation and greedy and unscrupulous property developers (what, really, shock horror, oh the humanity!) and all init.

I look forward to seeing the rest of season one of Sister Boniface.

A skeleton is dug up by Brutus the dog during the Great Slaughter Allotment Society's Annual Giant Marrow Contest. Initially believed to be Viking in origin, Sister Boniface determines the bones to be far more recent and belonging to a victim of murder. An ok entry, though it's still an enjoyable dose of cosy mystery. No ultra dark tone or characters, or profanity - just fun escapism.

There is excitement as the allotment society is having its giant marrow contest.

Peggy's father is the big favourite but finds himself under arrest for murder.

Human bones have been found. At first it is thought it might be viking remains.

Sister Boniface deduces that the bones are recent and it could be murder.

There is one young man who has been missing for a few years.

Can Peggy do enough to convince her fellow police officers that her father is not a murderer?

This one is not for the compost heap. Sister Boniface uses soil analysis to figure out if the murder weapon was planted on the wrong suspect.
