WE WELL RECALL that this briefly appearing series gave us a breath of fresh air in daytime television. Sandwiched in between so many soap operas, game shows and local chit-chat fests, it provided us with a shot of much needed broadcast adrenaline. Much like that second cup of coffee, it was at once relaxing and stimulating.

THIS PRODUCTION WAS the brainchild of that eternally youthful, Mr. Dick Clark. Along with his American BANDSTAND, DICK CLARK SHOW (Saturday evenings), $10,000 PYRAMID GAME, DICK CLARK'S NEW YEAR'S EVE, THE OTHER SIDE (a male counterbalance to THE VIEW) and so many others, he produced and hosted.

PERHAPS COUNTRY & WESTERN Music hadn't come of its time yet, for the series wasn't on more than a single season, if that. And that was a bleapin' shame, for as we said, it was a real oasis in a desert of sameness.
