The song "WORK" appears in the opening credits to JP Riley's indie film, "Act Super Naturally" the sequel to his 2013 little indie-cult classic that has garnered a naturist following all over the world. Work is Act Super Naturally Co-Producer, David Kox's Co-directorial debut.
Mike and J.P. met in Burbank backstage during a taping of "Last Call with Carson Daley" where Company of Thieves were performing the single, "Oscar Wilde" the video of which, JP produced"...the live national broadcast was Maimone's first time performing with his new band. Afterward they went to Swinger's Diner to discuss the music video for the next single at which point Mike and JP started to form a friendship based on similar work-ethics made of DIY elbow grease and a sense of humor with a keen eye for the surreal. They can usually find the humor in just about anything.
This music video marks the 6th collaboration between Mike Maimone and JP Riley. Riley produced/directed four video projects for Company of Thieves, "Oscar Wilde", "Pressure", "Running From a Gamble EPK", "a cover of The Beatles, "Act Naturally (from the soundtrack to Riley's feature directorial debut of the same name) and official motion picture soundtrack music video", and a music video for Mike's band, Mutts for their single, "InstaMe".
