• Gene Siskel - Host : You know, a movie is really pathetic when it ends up basically being a seltzer fight at the end. The movie "Overboard" is much too top-heavy with bad jokes and screaming, and not strong enough in its love story. I don't understand why they didn't emphasize that. The story is simply the standard "taming of the shrew" tale, and neither the shrew nor the tamer is that interesting.

  Roger Ebert - Host : I enjoyed the way she related to those kids, and she changed, and I liked the physical humor, too.

  Gene Siskel - Host : Oh, "kind of okay", well, I wouldn't recommend...

  Roger Ebert - Host : Okay, then I thought it was MORE than okay. I thought it was not a great comedy, but a good comedy, and I did enjoy it, and I would recommend it to somebody who's looking for a little escapist entertainment.
