With a screenplay written by a team supervised by Flavio De Souza which included Cláudia Dalla Verde and Dionisio Jacob, used a formula bold, with free frames. Brought a breakthrough for children's programming on Brazilian TV, still stuck in stereotyped formulas. Brought the veteran actors Marcelo Tas and Carlos Moreno, besides the direction of Fernando Meirelles (known by the film City of God). Won several awards, including the Gold Medal at the New York Festival. The series ran until 1992 and resulted in approximately 180 episodes were rerun for several years on TV Cultura and from 2003 the newly created TV Rá-Tim-Bum (cable channel from Fundação Padre Anchieta). The format used in this series originated Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum in 1995.
