Keeping the proverbial foot pressed firmly on the pedal, Netflix has unveiled the latest Adam Sandler-fronted actioner on its way to the streaming service, a mere three months after the much-derided Ridiculous 6.
Entitled The Do-Over, Sandler’s latest creative effort has been pegged for launch on May 27. Starring opposite David Spade is Sandler’s bumbling bank manager, who finds his life “turned upside down when a friend from his past manipulates him into faking his own death and taking off on an adventure.”
Sporting new identities with a fresh outlook on life to boot, what follows is a sleazy sizzle reel of low-key action shootouts and scantily-clad women. It’s by no means a trailer to win over the Sandler naysayers, particularly when you factor in the critical panning directed at Ridiculous 6, but we’ll reserve final judgement until we lay eyes on a full-length trailer.

I haven't liked anything Adam Sandler has done in years, but he clearly has legions of fans that still love everything he does, because he's consistently one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood and his stuff — while often critically reviled — makes money. Since The Ridiculous Six was apparently a huge success for Netflix, I'm guessing they're pretty pleased with the multi-picture deal they made with him not too long ago, and now we have the teaser trailer for their second collaboration: The Do-Over.
Sandler reunites with longtime friend and former SNL co-star David Spade in this action comedy, which is described like this:
The life of a bank manager is turned upside down when a friend from his past manipulates him into faking his own death and taking off on an adventure.
The Do-Over will be available on Netflix starting on May 27th.

Arabian Nights (Miguel Gomes)
In lauding Miguel Gomes‘ three-part, six-and-a-half hour behemoth, it’s perhaps important to consider his background as a critic. Not just in terms of the trilogy’s cinephilic engagement with Rossellini, Alonso, Oliveira, etc.; also in its defiant nature. While it’s easy to assign the trilogy certain humanist and satirical labels from the get-go and just praise these films for following through on them,...

You generally wouldn’t think that Adam Sandler’s films would all be connected, but as it turns out, they actually might be. One eagle-eyed Sandler fan recently got lost down a never ending rabbit hole and unearthed connections and links between the comedian’s various cinematic endeavors. Yep, that’s right, there are dozens upon dozens of characters that bind the Sandlerverse together. And it’s the sort of revelation that might haunt you forever. Ok, so Shawn Kohne took to YouTube to unveil his findings after he originally notieced that Dan Aykroyd’s character in 50 First Dates mentioned Callahan Autos from Sandusky, Ohio. This immediately rang a bell to Kohne, and his research led him to Tommy’s Boy, where Dan Aykroyd’s character in the bawdy comedy actually works for that very same company. Most people might just ...

Idris Elba has argued that UK television is in need of a “Magna Carta moment” on diversity and is still failing to reflect modern Britain.
The star of Luther and Prometheus called for a “change of mind-set” in broadcasting during an address at the Houses of Parliament as part of an event that marked a year since the launch of UK broadcaster Channel 4’s 360° Diversity Charter.
London-born Elba, who moved to New York shortly after beginning his career as an actor, said more should be done to ensure British black, Asian and minority ethnic talent prosper at home.
He said: “I never saw myself or my culture on TV so I stopped watching TV. Instead I decided to just go out and become TV. I had to transform the way the industry saw me. I had to climb out of the box. In other words, I didn’t go to America because I couldn’t get parts...

First Dates gave Georgia a second chance at finding love in tonight's show after being stood up last week - but it turns out that her date with Alex just didn't quite work out.
Georgia and Alex had been flirting at the bar in last week's episode but when the show brought them together tonight something was missing for Georgia.
"He's a lovely guy, but I wasn't head over heels," Georgia told Digital Spy. "He's really attractive but I kind of look for that feeling of, 'Oh my God!' He was a lovely person but it wasn't there."
And she added: "There's not been any second dates or anything like that."
Boo.
But Georgia suggested that she would go to the First Dates restaurant again, saying: "I love Fred, he's lovely, and the bar staff are really nice. I'd go back just for a chat with them all! I...

First Dates had us on the edge of our seats last week as lovely Georgia got stood up - and then seemed to fall for a guy on another date.
Georgia and Alex had a lovely chat at the bar before Alex headed off for his date with Heather - but after that didn't work out, the pair returned to the First Dates restaurant for a date which we'll get to see tonight.
Speaking to Digital Spy today, Georgia admitted that she wasn't particularly surprised when she got stood up in last week's show.
"Do you know what, the way my love life goes it was kind of expected!" she laughed. "I actually made a joke because I had that many disasters getting down to London that day, I was just having one of those days, so I made a joke saying, 'Watch my date not even turn up now that I've got here'.

The only thing worse than being stood up is fancying someone else's date while you're feeling sorry for yourself.
But that's exactly what happens on this week's rather awkward First Dates. Watch below:
The clip shows a girl chatting on the phone at the bar after being stood up, but then, in walks Alex who immediately catches her eye.
She's looking for someone who gives her "tummy flutters" and is attracted to straight away.
Alex, meanwhile, is after a "genuinely nice girl" who only rates himself a 6 out of 10 for looks. Just what happens?
First Dates airs on Thursdays on Channel 4 at 10pm.

Love was in the air on the special Stand Up To Cancer edition of First Dates tonight as Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter found romance on the show.
Jorgie was set up with 31-year-old personal trainer Craig and opened up about her belief that men will leave her because she grew up without her father around.
But there were lighter moments, too, as Jorgie tried to play it cool and the duo giggled about whether or not they fancied each other.
They eventually agreed to meet up again - and are now dating, with Jorgie even taking Craig to the Soap Awards.
Less successful in the First Dates restaurant was Anthea Turner, who said she had a "lovely lunch" with 50-year-old Jeremy but decided he was too well-behaved - and his dislike of brown sauce proved to be a dealbreaker.
Elsewhere, Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing had a shaky start...

Gogglebox is pretty epic on a normal night, but throw in some celebrities with our usual favourites and you've got one crazy Nsfw TV show.
In aid of Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer telethon, that's exactly what we had tonight (October 9) and Twitter was quick to explode with happiness at the presence of one particular celebrity:
1. It's Mr Christian Grey himself - Jamie Dornan. And he isn't keen on Strictly:

Wow! The Last Leg presenter Adam Hills got into the spirit of Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer telethon by shaving his head.
Viewers were asked to vote on how they would like the show to finish, either with diehard Arsenal fan Alex Brooker wearing a Spurs football shirt, Greg Davies weightlifting Josh Widdicombe or Hills shaving his head.

The poll was announced at the end of the show as 11% for the Spurs shirt, 23% for Greg's weightlifting and an overwhelming 66% voted in favour of Hills going bald.
Quick to pick up the clippers were Brooker and guest Russell Howard, who didn't take long to shear Hills of his thick head of hair.
The impact seemed to dawn on the comedian, who shrieked: "What have I done? What have I done?!"

Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews and Jamie Laing have always had a close relationship, but they've taken it to new levels in 'Undercover Strip'.
In an exclusive In Bed with Jamie Laing clip, the pair are seen cavorting under the covers as they attempt to change clothes.
An unfortunately placed mirror (or should that be conveniently?) gives us the odd cheeky topless view of the pair.
They eventually manage to swap shirts, trousers and - judging by Jamie's comment "There's penis everywhere!" - underwear.
In Bed with Jamie is available to watch on All 4, with the episode featuring the clothes swap going live on Monday.
Jamie is also appearing in a special celebrity edition of First Dates as part of Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer telethon, airing on Monday (October 12).

'Hotel Transylvania 2.' 'Hotel Transylvania 2' far surpasses expectations at domestic box office: Adam Sandler a hit when heard but not seen Adam Sandler has been having his share of domestic box office flops lately. Chris Columbus' Pixels, which opened in late July to scathing reviews and indifferent audiences, was the latest one: a reported $88 million production (plus marketing and distribution expenses) that earned $76.67 million in the U.S. and Canada (plus an estimated $145.1 million elsewhere). But now comes the Sony Pictures release Hotel Transylvania 2, the concisely titled sequel to the late Sept. 2012 hit Hotel Transylvania. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, the $80-85 million-budgeted animated feature should open around $48 million from 3,754 theaters according to early weekend box office estimates found at Deadline.com. The report adds that some “rival studio box office analysts” believe Hotel Transylvania 2 may actually pass the $50 million mark. On Friday, Sept. 25, '15, it collected a better than expected (estimated) $13.5 million.

For all those who love awkward small talk and bad jokes, get comfortable, because this First Date clip has it all.
Paul tells us he doesn't have a particular type that he goes for and just loves all women.
Clearly assuming he's being complimentary rather than a bit weird, he says: "I like that God has given us such a selection."
In a bid to prove he wants to be with someone who finds his jokes funny, Paul proceeds to tell his date for the evening, Samantha, that he used to be a woman.
"I think I'd kill myself if I don't get a girl who laughs at me, it's demoralising."
But will Samantha find his "elephant in the room" jokes worth a second date?
First Dates airs on Thursdays at 10pm on Channel 4.

Stacey Solomon will help the public - specifically some if its more dishonest members - to find love in brand new show I Lied for Love.
The programme is being developed by Channel 4 Formats, with the plan being for Solomon to present it on Channel 4's sister channel E4.
The series will feature people who have faked their dating-site profiles to find love.
Taking those who have exaggerated their qualities, edited photos, or just outright lied to get a date, Solomon will help turn their dating-site persona into reality before meeting an online suitor face to face for the first time.
Dating shows are a popular staple for Channel 4, with the wonderfully awkward First Dates seeing a huge surge in applications when it returned to our screens a few weeks ago.
It also isn't Solomon's first time presenting a dating show, having previously paired with Chris Moyles...

Fans of observing awkward small talk rejoice! First Dates is back on Channel 4 and Digital Spy has got an exclusive clip from the next episode.
39 year-old Laura from Kent tells us her type of man is "Neanderthal, arched eyebrows, walks like a monkey... all sure of themselves".
Does 39 year-old Matt from Leicestershire match that ideal? Have a look:
Matt regales us with stories of coming across fake profiles on dating websites before Laura teeters her way into the restaurant, with even the maitre d' showing concern for her entrance.
When it turns out her shoes are too big for her, she and the maitre d' stuff them with napkins before she makes her way over to Matt's table.
We hear Laura's throaty laugh when she finishes telling us about some of her more unusual routines while getting ready for a date - but do the pair hit it off?...

Gogglebox is finally back – and all of your favourite telly watchers wasted no time getting tucked in on the week's hot-button topics.
We bring the best Twitter chatter about the Gogglebox crew breaking down the Syrian refugee crisis, cringing at an awkward First Date and wondering about Stephen Fry's "wife":
1. Refugees. Gogglebox tackled refugees!
Gogglebox vicar to her husband: I've signed a form to say I'll take a family (of refugees). "Have you?". Of course, what else am I gonna do?
— Sophie Long (@SophieLong01) September 11, 2015
#Gogglebox What does Ukip man have to say about humanitarian efforts to help refugees? Massive empathy I'm sure...
— James A (@ExeterDormouse) September 11, 2015
Haha I'd love to see Gogglebox film my dads views on the refugees he's not as diplomatic as these on here
— Kristian Iceton (@KristianIceton) September 11, 2015
Gogglebox already annoying me, there is a difference between migrants and refugees. Educate yourselves!
