"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." may be the latest comic book series to hit the small screen, but it's certainly not the first. Almost as old as comic books themselves, comic book TV series have become a mainstay of current popular culture. With a number of television shows based on both Marvel and DC comics, it's hard to imagine a TV series based on any other comic book publishing company.
One might think that Malibu Comics' "Night Man" didn't fit the Marvel/DC bill when his TV series debuted in the late '90s, but that was not the case! Marvel Comics acquired Malibu in 1994, and began crossing Night Man over with popular Marvel superheroes like Thor, Wolverine, and even Gambit. Surprisingly enough, Night Man even got his own TV series a year after his comic book was canceled!

The Attack The Block soundtrack. Joe Cornish managing to make the considerable sidestep from lo-fi cinephile comedian to Spielberg screenwriter is one of the great heartwarming anomalies of recent years. We can be fairly sure that when Cornish and his comedy partner Adam Buxton created a parody of Saving Private Ryan using cuddly toys (including a stuffed lion in the Matt Damon role) for their superb low-budget British comedy series The Adam & Joe Show, they weren’t treating it as a job interview. Well, turns out it was a job interview, the job’s writing a Spielberg film, and he got it. Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, co-scripted by Cornish and Edgar Wright, will be hitting cinemas soon. This kind of thing does not happen everyday. When it happens to someone as talented and warm and sincere as Cornish, we must celebrate it (how you ask?...

After dressing up as a clown, the clown then shoots a man at a bakery store. Note the emphasis on the gun throughout the clown's make-up scene, cos all clowns are evil! (Joke.) I don't have any hang ups about clowns but I know some people will suffer nightmares after the abundance in this episode. It was a bit too obvious that other clowns would arrive on the scene just so as the real killer could make his escape and throw them off the track, for a while. Including leaving a gun behind which had nothing to do with the shooting. Was it used by the hitman who was sent after Bobby Renton (Jd Pardo). OOh me jumping the gun here again - groan.)
