Storyline
Plot Summary |
Montcornet near Laon: the colonel De Gaulle is fighting against the Germans; he needs the help of others battalions and of the air force to hit severely the German Army.He receives a negative answer.On the 7th of June De Gaulle is nominated under secretary of state of War and National defense and on the 9th of June De Gaulle is sent to London where he meets Winston Churchill at Downing Street.Return to France where De Gaulle meets the Prime Minister Reynaud, the Marshal Pétain and Weygand.De Gaulle wants to continue the fight against the Germains: Weygand and Pétain are thinking about an armistice.On 10th of June Paris is declared open city.The government moves to the region of Touraine: there are talks with Winston Churchill.Then the government moves to Bordeaux.De Gaulle invites Reynaud to leave France and to continue the fight from the United Kingdom.De Gaulle travels to London and is insisting in speaking to the French People telling them that the fight must continue !.
