In this short film which if Harry Carey, Jr. had decided to make a series he could have done several of these shows. Since returning from war service in the middle Forties, Carey worked with just about everyone in Hollywood, about 98% of his films are westerns. That's only natural since his father was a great silent western star and later a fine character actor just as his son became.
The guys he worked with the most are here, John Wayne, Richard Widmark, Ben Johnson. In fact Carey did a book of memoirs about a decade ago where he talked about working with John Ford and these guys and many others figure prominently. Probably the most endearing story was that of working on a Rawhide episode with Victor McLaglen as guest star with the director being Andrew McLaglen before he went to the big screen. In his memoir Carey said that McLagen was exactly like his screen image, what you saw there was quite real. You could see how much he loved the old guy.
