I enjoyed this journey in Cape Verde: three islands, Sao Vicente Santo Antao and Fogo. We can see a great diversity of landscape: an active volcano, the seaside, Mindelo and its carnival, the mountains, the terraced fields and the highlands (where Sophie was riding a horse).
I enjoyed the differents encounters of Sophie with the people of these islands: César Lizardo (alias Tché) her guide in Mindelo, Aderito, the fisherman, Virginia , the female cook who prepares the cachupa, Valdir the creator of carriages for the carnival, Mariua Julia ,another cook, Antonio the man who produce goat cheese, Simon , her guide in Santa antao (the visit a sugar cane plantation and the alembic which produce grogue), Lenine ,the water tanker driver, Katia , the young woman who is flag bearer of her neighborhood in the carnival, Adriano and Marco who take care for horses, Amarisa the guest house owner in Fogo and Elias the mountain guide in Fogo.
A journey full of life; Cape Verdean people enjoy music and in many families father are teaching music to the children, the nice carnival in Mindelo or the people meeting on the public place playing cards or listening to music: the great sense of hospitality (morabeta).
