• Johnny Midnight : [Narration]  Kate was in love. She was on the way to her wedding, and she was in a state of high-speed happiness. The manufacturer of her sports car claimed it would do 140. It could. Kate's home was smaller than the New York Public Library, but it probably had more bathrooms. And Danny Barrett had been dragged up in an East Side slum.
