Two months later. Anders and Mio have decided to stay together with everything it means. In Mio's stomach, the fetus is growing bigger and they feel ready for the life they will now have build together. At least that's what they think. In the second season of Heartbeats, we get to meet our main characters as the honeymoon slows down but surely passes into everyday life. When the relationship shows its true self and reality becomes inevitable. When the desire to meet the other's needs forces one to renounce one's own. To being on the edge between losing yourself and who you are as a result of being good at compromising. Alternatively, being ego and unwilling to give up any part of who you were to create a shared life with your partner, all in order to be true to yourself. Anders struggles with his goals and dreams, who he always wanted to be and become as an adult. Security and stability that he has learned all too well how important it is for a child. Will Mio ever understand what is important to him? Or are there others who understand him better? At the same time, Mio finds it difficult to live up to Anders' standards and feels trapped in the life she is forced to live. Society makes demands on her as pregnant and suddenly she is no longer free to be who she wants, free to be like her best friend Katja. When Katja seems happier than ever, however, the jealousy grows too strong for Mio. Far too strong.
