Wow. Over the years, Monica clearly bent over backwards to support La'Darius and then once she wasn't physically there for him (she was away for several months doing Dancing with the Stars), he went off the deep end. I understand that he would feel upset that she wasn't there to coach in person for the first half of the season (as all the athletes felt), but that's not a reason to betray someone who fought for you even at times when you were being incredibly difficult. So it's too bad that he went on the war path on social media. In some ways, it was surprising and in other ways not all in when you take into account La'Darius's past behavior that was often captured on camera (the ego, the tantrums, the verbal attacks directed at other cheerleaders and at Monica).
It seems like the filmmakers are putting Monica in a more sympathetic light this season. I suspect that after the flack she caught last season for calling injuries like broken ribs a fictional nuisance called "rib-e-osis" (and things of that nature), it may have made them want to take a different tack. Or maybe it was in her contract to be shown more positively. Or maybe she saw season 1 and realized that the risky coaching stuff wasn't okay so she changed. Hard to say, but this season has definitely been a different angle when it comes to Monica, and I do feel for her with the La'Darius situation. And I hope that La'Darius finds inner peace.
