An old foe is back on Bannerman Road.

Gita and Haresh go in search of answers, attending a BURPSS meeting, a group of UFO spotters, it just so happens that Androvax is back on Bannerman Road, but this time he's asking for help.

I'm glad they mentioned Men in Black, as the references are very obvious, the trio of suited and booted androids look pretty good though.

I never thought I'd see the wonderful Cheryl Campbell appear in anything Doctor Who related, I'm so glad she's here, she's a cut above, nice to see her in such a role, she doesn't often venture away from serious drama.

Mark Goldthorp is excellent once again as Androvax, one of the aliens that worked incredibly well, I love the idea of them revisiting a character, one that was a successful villain, could the leopard change his spots?

I'm not sure the catchphrase, Prepare to be incinerated, works incredibly well.

It's pretty good.

7/10.

Men in Black

Review of both parts:

Most fictional stories include influences from other stories and most science fiction has many recurring ideas and themes. This story includes a very direct copy of ideas from the Men in Black movies. The way it is used does not feel sufficiently original and makes me feel it should have been varied a bit more from those ideas. To be fair it links in to longstanding ideas of secret agents hiding alien activity on Earth so it makes sense within the story, it just does not feel like it has enough of an original twist on the ideas.

The effects are very impressive and though the story is unexceptional it is fun, action packed and amusing. The acting from the main cast is great as usual with Lis Sladen again showing her talent to transform into an alter ego as well as her deep and convincing delivery of every line.

Overall this is enjoyable but lacks freshness and is quite run of the mill.

My ratings: Both parts - 6.5/10.
