When Ronnie comes to the den over the garage to talk to his dad about coming to work with him due to a supposed school problem, George turns off the TV showing his competition, a western show, and sits back in the couch with a TV Guide for the week Sept. 28-Oct. 4 of 1957 with George on the cover wearing a cowboy hat.
George's monologue about growing old and retiring is very prophetic. In it he jokes about a performer working until he dies at 96. George, 61 years old and considered to be around retirement age at that time, continued performing beyond the age of 96 and lived to be 100.
Professor Tavelman was named after Lou Tavelman, the Beverly Hills tailor who provided George Burns' and Ronnie Burns' clothes for the series.
This episode's Vaudeville Afterpiece is titled "Mozart Allen." This lengthy routine was continued the following week.
