A good continuation of a perfect pilot

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was really nice although it didn't quite live up to the first episode's level. The change in tone from overall drama to overall comedy was a bit jarring but they also did manage to stay dramatic at the right moments. I actually found Louis' first kill to be absolutely hilarious, as was his drunken/high behavior at the graveyard. His and Lestat's bickering is really sweet and very much in character. And I must express my appreciation of the famous Two Ladies scene. Changing it from the two women to the tenor was a genius move, not only is it fresh and new but it also provides a perspective into both Louis' and Lestat's personalities and values. I did find the tone changes a bit distracting tho which is why I think the first episode is a bit better. All in all a great entertaining episode!

Wonderful Second Episode

This episode is a great continuation of the pilot and also serves to set up many of the conflicts to come as well as delivering humour and tragedy, emotions very much in line with the book canon. Sam Reid as Lestat is giving all a fan could ever hope for and Jacob Anderson should be handed his Emmy immediately (especially after his performance in the pilot). Very interesting exploration of character especially for Louis in his changed circumstances and the troubles he still faces in a segregated society. This also ties in with the difference between him and Lestat and the tension it creates, which makes an even stronger case than in the books.

Just amazing

Great episode once more. I came knowing nothing about the Vampire Chronicles to buy the first book, watch the movie and putting my full attention into this series. Once again Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid kill it (literally lol) and I love how well the humor is played in this episode.

I am someone who enjoys comedy a lot so the humor in this series is PERFECT for the nature of the tale being told. Not too much but enough to feel closer to two vampires preying over the people of New Orleans.

The whole opera and tenor scenes consolidated my love for Lestat de Lioncourt so much. He is such an interesting character. So passionate. Sam Reid is just amazing as him.

Lestat. Just that. Lestat.

I was greatly concerned about the interpretation of Lestat, who's one of my favorite characters in media. I've always wanted to see him portrayed the way it should be and unfortunately in the books Louis was too unreliable to give us that.

BUT with this episode I can see all the sweet layers of who Lestat is, also... Sam? Daaaaamn I was wrong, the media has been giving me twink drama club Lestat for too long and I needed my jock drama club Lestat from the books.

I also really enjoyed how this story of Louis is going and I'm shipping these two harder than any other couple out there. I know I'm setting myself up for heartbreak but oh well... it's the price for good media I guess.

So very boring as it traipses across rough trodden roads

I still have hopes for Thai show, but it feels so boring. Nearly all very scene and overly scripted word feels so identical to the very vampire story. There is zero left to ponder as every plot line and social issue is fed to you like 5th grade English and history class.

The show feels like it's going to take the whole season explaining the "rules" to f this universe according to this show. Yet nearly every rule is common to nearly all vampire shows. Other than changing race and cementing the main guys s sexuality (the movie left it more fluid), the show feels a copycat of its origin without the soul of it. No real ground or angle is new. The only topics that are new are racism and being gay. But they are not really delving into it beyond a casual tweet. At most, it's a repetitive complain about history and how he murdered a racist. I am hoping more substance can spring from this that both develop a character and also breathe life to an age old social dilemma. The sets and over scripted dialogue demonstrates their desire to give an aire of sophistication....so id like the subject matter ti be the same.

For example....be the show "the rookie"(invite new ways to think in topics) and less "law and order" (reinforcing stereotypes)

And for the LGTQ+ topic they opened. Do better. Its less about sex scenes and more about inviting unique life matters that we can all rally around. Or learn. Etc.
