A nice special episode from "Phineas and Ferb" Warning: Spoilers
Very nice, heartwarming and entertaining episode, which reunites the best characteristic from this series that made it so appealing both for kids and adults: A great chemistry between the characters, intelligent humor, clever and heartwarming situations, and many catchy songs.

Along with "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together", "Wizard of Odd", "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted!" and "Rollercoaster: The Musical!" this is one of my favorite episodes, having all the good elements that made a fan of this show.

Personally, I consider the ending of this episode one of the greatest moments in the entire series.

One episode that makes me smile no matter how many times I watch!
Reckno642 January 2020
This episode is just so much fun, so enjoyable I would recommend it to anyone, even those who don't watch the show! Brilliant songs, many funny moments, and topped off by THE GREATEST ADVENTURE EVER where the kids travel all across the world on the summer solstice to make the best and longest day of summer! Of course, things don't always go as planned but they all make the most of it. They visit Tokyo, France, India, and each place has at least one song so be ready for a very musical episode!

Personally the song at the end (which shares the same name as the title of the episode) is probably my favorite in the entire show. Every moment of it just makes me so happy, I can never watch it without smiling!

Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh are true geniuses. Everything about this episode is perfect in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and see it if you already haven't! :D

Phineas and Ferb use the Summer Solstice to make the longest day ever.
sawaug13 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This is my personal favorite episode of the entire series. It has pointless celebrity cameos like Clay Aiken and Chaka Khan to sing an amazing musical number. It is also hilarious with so many references and jokes galore. It also has a pretty emotional core in that Phineas is nearly broken down when he can no longer find any ideas to complete their goal. Isabella who just wanted to sit and talk with Phineas is shocked to find that that isn't the Phineas she fell in love with. She really fell in love with him because of the way that he keeps going to do the impossible no matter what. It really hits home the message of making the most of every day by having them literally create the longest day ever. Another thing is that their goal is not completely unrealistic and could physically be possible. Another big character development is that Buford is no longer seen as a bully, but more as a friend, in the end being the one who is responsible for getting everyone back home in time for the sunset. Showing that he secretly wanted Phineas and Ferb to succeed all along.

Around the world in one day
TheLittleSongbird1 October 2021
Despite revolving around a certain formula and similar basic structure, 'Phineas and Ferb' is still to me a great show and had enough variety to stop it from being repetitive. The earlier seasons are better, funnier and more creative than the later ones generally, but even when the show was not at its very best it was so much better than most shows airing on the Disney Channel. During its entire run, 'Phineas and Ferb' was one of the channel's few winners in a period where it was going downhill.

"Summer Belongs to You" is an example of an episode going into the transition into the latter seasons that shows that 'Phineas and Ferb' was still going strong at this point and what the show is all about. Not only is it one of the best episodes of Season 2, which was quality-wise very good with no bad episodes really, it is also one of my personal favourites of the show. No wonder "Summer Belongs to You" is a fan favourite, a distinction that is more than well deserved, and it is a great concept handled brilliantly.

The animation is great as usual. Full of rich vibrant colour and the attention to detail in the backgrounds showed a lot of care and effort, this is all especially apparent at the end. The music has been widely lauded among fans and for very good reason, it is truly amazing with some of the best music for any 'Phineas and Ferb' episode (and the show always hit when it came to its music).

Absolutely loved the writing, it is typically smart while also striking the right balance of hilarious humour and heart-warming emotion. It's always an immensely entertaining episode while also having a lot of heart. The story is full of vibrant energy and always delivers on the fun and charm factors. It is also incredibly heart-warming, like at the end. The Doofenschmirtz subplot is different to usual and refreshing.

Loved the character writing and interactions with no exceptions and the same goes with the voice work.

Concluding, brilliant. 10/10.

Phineas and Ferb chase the sun around the world making the day the last 40 hours
bscollazo-940-9183572 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Phineas and Ferb are challenged by Buford to travel around the world in one day by chasing the sun and getting home before it gets dark in Danville making the longest day of Summer! If they lose, they will give up using their imagination to think of new things. They build a rocket and their sister comes along to see if she can bust them (as always) and Isabella comes to help, and Buford comes to eat a bug and Baljeet comes just because. They stop in Japan, India, Paris (where Jeremy is). When they get to Paris Isabella calls it "The City of Love". They end up on an Island where they are stranded and can't get home in time. They find a way home, when they get home they have a Party. It was a great episode.

Television peaked here.
awsafzidane16 August 2023
This is peak television. One of the most satisfying episodes of all time.

The funniest and the most wholesome episode of the whole series (at least of the first 2 seasons). If they had decided to end the show here, it would have been a perfect ending (the actual ending is pretty much perfect too).

It takes everything that makes P&F so great and amps it up a notch. Science defying contraptions, amazing songs that make you wanna dance (City of Love and Summer Belongs To You are 2 of the best songs of the show), the sweet relationships among the characters, hilarious jokes etc.

Yes, this is just perfection.

Best episode of the show
HoopaDaBoopa29 June 2022
Almost every character is at their best, the story elevates it above a normal episode while still retaining the charm and feel of Phineas and Ferb, and the episode contains some of the best songs of the show (City of Love and Rubber Bands, Rubber Balls being a few standouts). What more could you ask for?
