Learn more- The results episode of "Dancing with the Stars" on Tuesday night started with a surprise announcement from head judge Len Goodman that the encore performance would come from "Situation" (as he put it) and Karina, who performed their futuristic foxtrot again. The worst part, though, was that we had to suffer through listening to the show's lounge-style singers give their interpretation of the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" for a second time.
To the results: Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke got to some results in short order, calling Audrina & Tony, Kyle & Lacey and Kurt & Anna to the stage -- but, at least on the east coast, the recap package for Brandy & Maks, Jennifer & Derek, and Rick & Cheryl was run. Nonetheless, the results were announced for the first bunch, and Audrina & Tony were the first couple safe. They were followed by Kurt & Anna, but Kyle & Lacey were still in jeopardy.
Be Our Guest: Ne-Yo paid a visit to the ballroom to perform, for the first time on television, his new single, "One in a Million."
Later, Mark Ballas and Val Chmerkovskiy (Maks' brother) took their long-standing ballroom rivalry to another level in a bizarre "strings duel," with Mark playing guitar and Val playing the violin, in between dancing with partners. No winner was announced.
Filling in for Susan Boyle, booted star Michael Bolton returned to the ballroom to sing "Hallelujah." There was no mention of the clash between Michael and Bruno, although the cameras were firmly aimed at Bruno after Michael sang, and Bruno clapped and smiled.
Back to the results: Brandy & Maks, Jennifer & Derek, and Rick & Cheryl were called to the stage next, and to ensure equality all around (again, at least on the east coast), they aired the recap package for the first group, Audrina & Tony, Lacey & Kyle, and Kurt & Anna.
The next couple safe was Jennifer & Derek. The next couple in jeopardy, though, was Rick & Cheryl. They celebrated, not having heard Brooke's announcement clearly. Then Cheryl put on a sad face when the news was clarified. Brandy & Maks were safe.
Finally, the last four couples learned their fates. The first of the bunch declared safe for at least another week was "The Situation" and Karina. The next couple in jeopardy was Bristol & Mark.
The next couple definitely returning next week was Florence & Corky, and Florence let out a huge yelp. Margaret & Louis were still in jeopardy.
Finally, the couples in jeopardy learned their fates. The first couple safe was Kyle & Lacey. The next couple safe was Rick & Cheryl.
That left it down to Bristol & Mark and Margaret & Louis, and the couple that went home was Margaret & Louis.
