Hard Work brings results

It's always a challenge to make an Indie film with a mix of Christian principles and a somewhat gritty story. Tip too far one direction, you lose part of your intended audience. Too far the other way, you lose another part. It's a balancing act.

When his daughter loses her scholarship (the company sponsoring the scholarship went bankrupt), and can't return to school without it, the Dad, who has always led his family with a military bearing, decides to put her through a rigorous training program in preparation for a horseshoe tournament.

The Dad has choice words for anyone who, in his estimation, doesn't measure up. In this film, the things he says are censored versus real military language. Even though I was glad that the actual high-grade foul language wasn't there, I found the substitutes a little cheesy. My wife, on the other hand, was disturbed by the Dad's treatment of people, regardless of what kind of language he used. The film ends as most films of its kind do. And that's all I'll say.
